For this week’s Artist Conversation I had a chance to interview David DeSantis. David is a senior at California State University,Long Beach and will soon be graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in the print making program. His gallery was his very first gallery at CSULB and was presented at the Dr. Maxine Merlino Gallery. He said that he would like to attend Grad school after he graduates from CSULB but would wait for a awhile to attend. He shared that his first week of school he never thought of doing screen printing until he was doing the school tour and saw the screen printing room. Right when he saw the room he knew right away that it was something he would like to try. He dropped the class that he was taking and registered himself in the screen printing class. David started drawing when he was 4 years old, drawing motorcycles. He was inspired by Jackson Pollock which resembles in his art work.Besides screen printing David enjoys music, especially dubstep. He listens to music while he created his artwork. His pieces takes about 2 to 3 days and he spends about 8 hours a day .
